osama

This is the story of Osama, and that of many other Moroccan youth.
Osama is from Tangier so he can sleep at home. Many others, coming from the south, from the mountains, have to live amidst the rocks and cement in the port. Their objective: reaching Spain. Each day they climb the wall that separates them from the port and try to hide between the containers or the trucks. These containers and trucks are then loaded onto ferries which cross the Gibraltar straits daily, navigating the half hour that separates Africa from Europe.
Osama makes it.
8 months after his arrival to Barcelona, the walls have yet to disappear. He discovers that he is living in a no man's land, a border-like space, existing for him even having crossed the border thousands of kilometres ago.
